Medieval fun at the Sunshine Castle

Sunshine Castle, also known as the Bli Bli Castle is a fantastic attraction in Bli Bli which will capture the imagination of the young and the young at heart alike.

This Norman style castle is complete with boats, turrets, towers and a drawbridge and is filled to the brim with medieval displays, exhibitions and activities to partake in.

Originally constructed in 1972 by a Scotsman for his wife’s dolls and fairy tale stories, the castle has had three freehold owners over the years. A few of the original dolls remain and they form part of the brilliant museum.

The Castle’s keep is a fantastic 24 metre high look-out tower and with it’s location at the top of a hill offers stunning views out across the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland.

Kids will love the castle, there’s so much to see and do and there are great organised activities like an interactive treasure hunt, the opportunity to get dressed up in themed gear and guided tours around the castle offering historical insights and great stories.

Resident Knight Sir Justyn provides Junior Jousting, Archery or Cannon fire weapons displays, educational talks and more.

It’s also a great venue for children’s birthdays, weddings, and private functions. You may encounter a selection of talented local entertainers such as belly dancers, wandering minstrels, magicians and theatre dinner performers.

Don’t miss tickets to the fantastic ‘Opera in the Castle’ on the last weekend of March and Octobre every year.

The castle is open daily from 9.30am - 4.30pm
