Dive the wreck of HMAS Brisbane

Dive-the-Wreck-of-HMAS-Brisbane.jpg

The Ex-HMAS Brisbane is a top dive site on the Sunshine Coast. In fact it’s one of Australia’s top ten dive sites. The dive site is only a 20-minute boat ride from the Wharf Mooloolaba and plays host to thousands of species of marine life. You’ll find lionfish, stonefish, octopus, nudibranch, sea turtles and even the occasional manta ray or reef shark.

Colourful reef fish dart in and around the wreck, providing a fascinating underwater wilderness for you to explore, their colours seem astounding and unrealistic. Vibrant oranges mixed with purples, brilliant emerald greens that gleam off the shafts of light falling from the surface.

Giant shoals swim in formation through the depths, they move as one in a silver swarm which can be quite mesmerising. They shift and swirl when a larger fish or predator comes near. The site is well prepared and safe - experienced dive instructors can cater for groups and any level of dive experience.

If you’re lucky you’ll also get to hear Humpback Whale song while you dive. During intervals while you enjoy a spectacular lunch, you might also get to see them breaching the surface. Explore the outside of the wreck on your first dive, and during your second - explore the inside, go from room to room inside the wreck and discover an amazing world beneath the waves.
